What will Student Council be doing this year?

  • MS DANCES!- Student Council will be hosting various dances on Friday nights from 6:30-9:00pm!  Cost is $5.00 and food/drinks will be sold at the dance, so bring some spending money with you.  Permission slips will be distributed in homeroom. Bring your permission slip and $5.00 to the door to get in.   Dates to be announced.

  • This is a SUPERDANCE year!  On Friday June 18th, the Superdance charity event will be held.  Stay tuned for more details reagrding this years choice of charities!

  • THANKSGIVING BASKET FOOD DRIVE!!!

  • The students at Northwestern Regional Middle School are currently conducting a Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive to aid families in need for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.  Students are collecting non-perishable food items, and are raising money to purchase turkeys.  This year we have been asked to assist approximately 30 families within the community.  The families that will be assisted by our turkey drive are from New Hartford, Colebrook, Norfolk, and Barkhamsted.  Keep in mind that many of these families have small children, and without assistance from our school community, may go without a Thanksgiving this year. This activity is one that fosters civic responsibility and community involvement.  Students are encouraged to give back to the communities from which they reside.  Any assistance you can provide to help those in need this Thanksgiving is deeply appreciated!

 Ways you can help:

  • Donate non-perishable food items.  Students may drop off donations to their homeroom.
  • Donate money for the purchase of turkeys.
  • Donate grocery store gift cards.
  • Remind your child to bring in their donations!  J
  • ANY DONATION YOU CAN GIVE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

  •  Veterans Day "Thank You" Event!
  • Sponsored by the M.S. Student Council and John & Jean Griffey, owners of the New Hartford and Winsted Dunkin Donuts!  Student council members will be greeting veterans at BOTH locations from 8am-10am on Wednesday, November 11th.  All veterans will receive a FREE breakfast courtesy of the Griffey's and Dunkin Donuts!  While Veterans are enjoying their breakfast, student council representatives will be there to offer a hand shake and a personal thank you to each and every veteran that walks through the door!  This is the first time this event is taking place and we are very excited about the opportunity to thank our local veterans in this special way.   COME ONE, COME ALL!
