Science with Miss Leach
The focus of study in seventh and eighth grade science at Northwestern Middle School is based on developing critical thinking skills and increasing content knowledge of physical, biological, and earth science. Through the study of nonliving and living worlds, students learn how to apply observations and intuitions to new situations and problems, formulate hypotheses, design experiments and draw conclusions.
In seventh grade, topics in biological, physical, and earth science are addressed through the following content areas.
Energy Transfer and Transformations
Energy in Earth's Systems

Cells
Human Body Systems
Food Preservation and Safety

In eighth grade, topics in biological, physical, and earth science are addressed through the following content areas.
Forces and Motion

Heredity and Evolution

Earth in the Solar System

Bridges

I look forward to a great two years of middle school together. I hope you learn from and enjoy the adventures I have planned for you!
