Overview of Curriculum This Week:
Note: Field trip permission form due by September 12.
In English class students will begin a getting to know you activity on their summer fun. Students will write a description of one of their most unique activities of summer and then perform it for the class. Parent "homework" is due by September 16.
In 8th grade math class we will spend time getting to know the students and reviewing with them the 7th grade math curriculum, work expectations and classroom decorum. Included in this will be a discussion about specific things students are to do to maximize their potential for success. We will then have students write an essay about their math experiences and general attititude toward the subject. We will also ask for some specific information which will be compiled and used by the students to produce several math-related displays and conclusions. This will be done in teams and will serve as a good review of a variety of math concepts.
In reading class we will
In social studies class we will
In science class students will be getting to know one another and the teacher, practicing routines, and learning about what is involved in the next two years of science. :) Welcome Back and Happy Fall!!! :)
