Monday, January 3rd, 2011: Columbus Trial - Day 10 - Columbus Trial - Introduction to Rules, Charges, and expectations
Homework: Read over the Intro to the Columbus Trial Packet and log into your Google Apps for Education account and join the two social studies groups. See below for instructions.
Please log into your new Google Apps for Education account. Go into your mailbox. In the upper left of the screen you will see a tap that says "More." Click on it and you will see a tap that says "Groups." Click on it. Once the "Groups" screen opens, you will see a box in the lower right that says "Find a user by email address:" Type in "mstapleton." You should see me. On the right of the screen you should groups that I am in. Please click on the "Discovery Social Studies" Group. Once in that group, click on the link on the right that says join this group. You will be prompted to select an email option. Please select any of the options except do not email. When done, return to the page with my groups. Now select the DGeo group with your period. Repeat the procedure. This will put in two groups. One that will include all the Team Discovery students and one that will contain only the students in your specific social studies class.
Tuesday, January 4th, 2011: Columbus Trial - Day 11 - Columbus Trial - finish Charges and have defendant groups work on preparing their cases.

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011: Columbus Trial - Day 12 - Columbus Trial - defendant groups work on preparing their cases.
Homework: Columbus Trial Preparation
Students are to continue the evidence research that they began in class today. Each student should have one or more of the Columbus background documents to sift through. As they review the document, they are to search for and identify evidence that will both defend their defendant and evidence that help them to accuse other defendants of the crime of genocide.
