Tuesday, May 24, 2011: Roots - Episode One
Homework: Work on Slavery Project Slideshow - Due by Tuesday, May 31st, 2011. Slideshow of your poem should either be created in VoiceThread or should be uploaded to VoiceThread. Due by 3 pm on Monday!
Part Two - Create a Slideshow to illustrate your Slavery Poem using VoiceThread:
Once your poem is written and turned in on Turn It In, you will begin working on phase two of this project. Students will now create an illustrated version of their poem. To do this we will use VoiceThread. All Students have been provided with an account to VoiceThread. Passwords and Usernames are the same as your gmail, Haiku, and your Network Log in at school. Students will gather images that illustrate their poem. These can be gathered from the web or drawn and scanned in. Using VoiceThread, you will put your images in an order and then using the voice comment aspect of the program, you will record your poem line by line - image by image.
If you have access to other software, such as iMovie or Windows Movie maker and you would prefer to make your slideshow / movie of your poem and images in that software and the upload it to VoiceThread, that would be perfectly acceptable. I do want you to upload it to Voice thread at the end for class commenting and sharing.
You may opt to work on this project individually or with one partner. If you work with a partner, you may either choose one of your two poems or do a re-write and combine them.
