Band
Welcome to the new school year! I am excited about another wonderful year, and know we will be making some great music together.
Please check this website on a regular basis for important information, handouts, assignments, lesson schedules, etc. Everything that is given to students in band is also posted up on this site for access by both students and parents.

8th graders are reminded that they need to renew their SmartMusic subscriptions - assignments for 8th graders are coming soon!
SmartMusic will be explained in detail and demonstrated for 7th grade parents at the Open House presentation on Tuesday, September 14th. All 7th graders should plan on having it installed on their home computers or have set up an account using the school computers by the end of September.
Upcoming Dates
Tuesday, September 14th - Middle School Open House
6:30 PM, with a session for 7th grade band parents in the band room, immediately following the team presentations
Friday, September 17th - student contract and fees due
Jazz Band
Auditions for the 2010-2011 Middle School Jazz Band will take place on Monday, September 20th and Tuesday, September 21st after school from 2:15-3:30. There is a list of audition requirements at the bottom of this page, and the sign up list for audition times is posted on the band room doors. All interested students are encouraged to audition!
There is no set day for jazz band rehearsals. I will work around the sports schedules to avoid all school games, so those students who want to do both may participate in both. If you have any questions about this process, please call or e-mail me.
7th Grade Music
Students will be exposed to music education during 45 days of class. They will have the opportunity to learn some basic piano skills in our keyboard lab.
8th Grade Music
Students in this class will be exposed to a greater appreciation of music. Designed for students that do not participation in the band or chorus program, this class will use class time to engage students in further music education.
